It's already 6 days left and .. omg, it was around 130 days when firstly here in Sabah ... but what a blink of eye .. for this 2 days .. i will be working night as i'm attached with mr.johny lee who is a night manager for front office .. what he basically do is printing reports, market segment for the next day .... a darn lot of paperwork but what i can do basically is just ... watching him haahhaa ...
Perhaps it's good for me because i can do less work as i do not have any mood to work at all, 6 days more and I'll back to Sunway for the better good. Thanks god that I had saved up my offdays earlier during my training in bellman and operator section. To be more precisely I only have 3 more working days hwere in Nexus Resort. Owh yeah, this Sunday i'll head to Gaya Street Sunday market. Sapu some things for my friends and family and not to forget my lovely niece Gloria who is currently 7 years old.
I think i will buy some gift here for my brother's official wedding as well. Since he don't like any alcoholic drinks and I bet my sense of fashion is totally different from him as well.
AND
I think i want to make some promise here so that I can see it in the future and I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN
- Pay more attention in study
- I want to make my semester 7 the best moment of my life in DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT
- Time to find some chick, I guess ..
- Be more proactive toward my surrounding
- Be patient and do not buy anything related to MODEL FIGURE for this semester
- Appreciate more about my family
- Time to enrich myself with more knowledge regarding to cooking, bartendering
- I PROMISE TO PREPARE THE REUNION DINNER FOR 2010 CHINESE NEW YEAR
- Exercise more as I've lost weight during my internship.
- I WANT TO GIVE OUT MY EVERYTHING FOR THE EXAM OF SEM 7. I AM AIMING FOR STRAIGHT As
- STUDYING IS THE BEST JOB FOR A STUDENT and I PROMISE NOT DESTROY MY OWN FUTURE.
Hope I can fulfill all these promises
It's already 4am in the morning .. better eat up my tortilla wrap :)

How a very strong headed young man turned into 'just another normal person' during working? but I AM DIFFERENT
Long time never update this pathetic blog already .. guess in Front Office department there's no any hidden place for me to online .. managed to online only during my offday at Sunday .. come think of it, it's been 20 days since my last off. Since i've decided to save my offday so I can have my off later on.
Oh hell yes .. 12 bloody days left and
IM BACK TO SUNWAY FOR THE GREATER GOOD
But what came into my mind is .. how a young man with a very strong determination turns into 'just like someone else' ? Well, during the first few weeks when i started my internship .. what comes into my mind is .. I'm in a hospiality industry where GUEST/CUSTOMER comes first and by hook by crook you have to act like a professional.
But what I've observed here in this 4 months .. i felt very sad for this resort, i mean WHERE is the professionalism and the standard for a 5-star hotel? Not I'm insulting but in fact it is the truth, if i'm one of the guest here for sure i'll complain like there's no tomorrow already.
Yeah, people in the higher level of management manage to talk/serve the customer with courtesy but some in the lower management really makes me sad. I've encountered someone new in the department where i'm in and believe it or not? there's no 'magic' word such as please, thank you , may i ? used by him. How the heck he managed to pass the interview? Is my hotel really lack of people until they just simple take any person to use? or he's a lucky one who passed the interview? Communication between internal staff also one of the worst thing i've see.. a guest who called for a luggage down service waited for almodt half an hour until he pissed off and carry his luggage for check-out himself. I really felt sorry for the guest.
Yeah and among the colleagues, they're just asking trainees to clean their unfinished shits ... why do i say how a person with a strong determination turns into 'just another normal person' ? There's no justice at all in this organisation. Imagine rm20 tips divided into 3 where 2 person takes rm 4 and the balance take by the leader? What the eff is this? Not to mention that a person being money minded or greedy, but WHERE is the justice? Everyone needs motivation in the sense of money or psychology.
I've gone through all these shits and i really think that? Why the heck i need to work with my life when i do not get the appreciation and motivation and SALARY? But again, after i think carefully ...
I AM DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PEOPLE
I show professionalism to each and every guest i encountered, and I offer help as much as I do. I believe that working with hospitality line we need to show courtesy no matter what situation we're in. And I'm different from 'just another normal person' !!! Therefore, I will complete this internship with my best skills. But what makes me feel good when i'm working is I hear words of appreciation from guest and this is the motivation for me when i'm down with all these pathetic emotion.
I am not saying all the person in my organisation but some of them I do really appreciate working with them and I am seriously respect them for their professionalism.

ugh .. omg 35 blardy days left
Hmm .. 35 days left. well, today is the left one of my boss left Nexus Karambunai ... after hell lotsa shits and politics in Fnb department ... Well, working here really makes my mind think wider and .. there's damn lot of unfair things in hotel.
Sometimes I thinked, being a boss and yet given F words for hours everyday. Kesian see my boss being F-ed by Restaurants manager. And the working hour is like .. 7am to 11pm everyday? with freaking lot of paperwork such as evaluation, staffing, monthly promotion, profit and lost account and other more ...
Now, they are talking beside me and I' writing this post. This is one of the thing that I won't forget in Nexus Karambunai. And ... I'm here to remind my self not to being arrogant when I'm in the higher level of management no matter which industry I'm in.
It's late and I'm gonna follow my boss back

42 days left .. I guess my mind is blurring me again
42 days left, but I can't wait to go back to sunway ... seriously, counting each days pass is a pain ... what is your feeling when every morning u woke up u doesn't have the mood to go to work? Next week is my last week in room service department ... which i don't really have problem with and there's approx 1 month 1 week more in front office department.
Seeing each one complete their internship is also a pain in the arse. During my first 1 1/2 month in Nexus, me and Kah Fai accompany Hans and Errol leavin Nexus, and tomorrow is John's last day in Nexus .. I've been seriously affected by their leaving, thus I can't concentrate with my job for a period of time.
I'm not acting tough but .. I DO really miss things in Sunway and back in my hometown, Bentong. I miss my bed, my gangs, the lifestyle there, the food there and my parent. After I graduated from my high school, my parents became more to my 'friend' where I can talk casually and sometimes share my feeling with them although they are nagging me sometimes.
I've lived outside Bentong after my high school BUT this is the first time I never see my friends and family members for such a long time.

Random things in my mind
Sitting in Old Town Cafe for 5 hours is not a good idea to spend my offday .. BUT, what can I do in my room? with a hole on the ceiling and rats might come down anytime? Complained so much to the staff quarter's management but it seems like nothing happens after all? Hmmm ...
I wonder? perhaps guys like me tends to become more picky about their living environment? or Sabahan are less care about their surrounding? Seriously, I cant accept it ... I dont mind living in my place but, RATS ? hell no for me
Working here in Sabah really makes a big doubt in my mind, I've always have the thinking of elegant and cool working condition when it comes to a 5-star hotel. But perhaps i'm in a resort so things are totally different? Or.. malaysian standard of hotel can't compare with others?
Yesterday morning, I've see the news of JW Marriot and Ritz Carlton bombing case in Jakarta .. ive thinking of working in other countries, but if im in this hotel line .. this can be a risk for me .. Ugh, what a pain .. I've come so far in my journey and made so many major decision .. still I cant figure out what the best? From my point of view, people tends to become 'uneducated' when working in the backlane of hotel ... I really can't figure out who is the rank and file staffs and who is the 'educated' person..
A 45 years old chef but acts like a piece of crap in front of their staffs and ME. Honestly he do not deserve any respect because he himself do not respect people at the first. However, I've receive some good advice from some of the bosses around ... This really sparks the passion of mine which is learning japanese language... actually it's not japanese in particular .. but any foreign language that is very much spoken or used is very beneficial after all...
So he did told me 'Once a person knows more than 7 kind of language. He/She's is very valuable in term of job'. Back at room, I started to think about myself?
What do I know so far? - in term of understanding and speaking
- English
- Malay
- Mandarin
- Cantonese
- Hokkien
- Hakka (abit)
- French (very basic)
- Japanese ( very basic, learnt from animes but still find it hard to use)
So i understand a bit of these language ...
After my graduation, Learning japanese course is a must for me already .. and in the same i will try to learn more about tourism and marketing. I believe that as long as we have the determination .. nothing is a big problem after all.
btw, Harry Potter starts at 5.45pm. makan first xD

Bartendering experience
Uhm.. how to start this ... I'm always have interest in alcoholic drinks .. but i hardly go to clubs and pubs before it's expensive, and yeah im just a student, no point to spill my parent's hard earn money.
I've taken bar training for 2 weeks in Sunset Bar and Grill, one of the outlet in Nexus Resort Karambunai .. felt very happy to take the bar training ... The person who guide me is Azlan, one of the bartender of the outlet...
To be honest, he's a talented and very kind person, he even taught me how to make nice cocktail garnish, some of the international cocktail, nexus creation cocktail, smoothies, ice blended.. I've seen some of the method that used in cocktail making
For example, shaking, blending, straight into the glass, shaking without ice and some other that i've forgotten ..
What are my favourite drinks during this 2 weeks in Sunset Bar and Grill?
- Long Island Ice Tea
- Pinacolada
- Singapore Sling
- Mai Tai
- Bananarama
- Papayana
- Planter's Punch
- Fuzzy Fizz
- Way to Heaven
* picture will be posted later*
Seriously I like bartendering a lot but this wont be my job too .. passion over a job VS job stability .. still, I prefer job stability .. But, after 2 weeks in Sunset Bar ... there's one thing in my mind
I wanna have my own private BAR in my very own house xD
